First, I posted about Samantha's birthday but here is a picture of her opening her presents. She got a digital camera/camcorder. They have had a blast with it. I had to change the batteries the day after she got it because they used it so much. I love it when presents go over so well.
After Samanthas birthday, Jonathan graduated from Kindergarten. They had a nice little program, gave out some awards, and got to come home early. One of Jonathans awards was for being "the best commentator during reading time". Most of the boys got silly awards like that. One got an award for dropping his crayon box the most, one for finding the most ways to sit in a chair....Just silly things that most likely drove the teacher nuts. Here is a picture of Jonathan getting his awards and graduation certificate from his teacher, Ms. Shryock.
A few days after graduation we got to go to San Antonio. We got to stay in this AWESOME hotel that had a 4 acre water park on the grounds. Needless to say, we swam a lot. The kids had a total blast. We also got to go to seaworld and see the really cool shows. We got to see the sea lions, dolphins, sharks, and of course Shamu. We got splashed really good by him actually. Ian didn't find it too funny, but we all got quite a kick out of it. We got to take a boat ride around the riverwalk, and we also went to the Alamo. We picked a really bad day to go because it was packed. JAMMED PACKED!! But we got to watch the movie about the alamo which was interesting and the kids actually sat through it really well.
We also spent a lot of time at Patrick's brothers house. They have a pool so we swam and just hung out with family. We got to meet a cousin for the first time. Her name is Maya and she is about 5 months older than Ian. She is such a cutie!! Ian absolutely loved her and even asked for Maya a few days after they had left. Here are some attempts at family pictures. Patricks dad and mom were there, as well as her mother, Great Grandma Hinshaw. Sweetest grandma you will ever meet!! We all had such a fun time and wish we could head back to that hotel for the rest of the summer. It is a kids (and mine - I have to admit) paradise.
